Pipit is a place to share the birds you find, cheer each other on, and compete for fun.
The guidelines
- Be kind, don't mock mistakes, and keep comments respectful. No harassment, bullying, hate, threats, or inappropriate/vulgar language.
- Birds come first, don't disturb birds to get a sighting, photo, or recording. Always maintain appropriate distance from fauna.
- Respect places and people, don't trespass or encourage others to. Follow park and refuge rules.
- Log honestly, only log birds you actually saw. No faked sightings, borrowed photos, or AI-generated images.
- Keep it on topic and clean: birds, nature, and birding life are the focus. No sexual, violent, or graphic content. No spam, ads, or content other than birding-related.
- Play fair, competitions are for fun. No cheating, multiple accounts, or teaming up to game the leaderboards.
- Keep personal info private, don't share your own or anyone else's phone number, address, or other private details.

What happens if rules are broken
Depending on the nature and on a case-by-case basis:
- Remove the post or comment
- Send a warning via email
- Remove results from a competition
- Suspend or permanently ban the account
We use our judgment, and serious or repeated issues can lead straight to a ban.
